Summer Camp

• When: June 18-22th

          Time: 8:00 A.M. –Noon

• Where: St. Augustine Catholic Church
•  Location: 1169 Kerr Ave., Memphis,  Tenn. 38106
• Age: Children 6-11
• Camp Cost: It's Free

• What are some of the activities  the campers will be doing? Campers will practice their reading, math, social studies, and science skills through the arts. Some of the arts & crafts activities the campers will be creating are based from the following:

         -Visual Arts (e.g. drawing,

          using
           clay, using paint,using fabric,
           using paste chalk), and much
           more..........

        - Music (Interactive Play &     
          Movement), and much more……

Note: Kem's House Inc.,  Visual Arts and Crafts Activities & Interactive Play/Movement Activities are based from the Tennessee Board of Education Art & Academic Curriculum and the Tennessee Board of Education Special Education Alternative Performance Indicators for elementary age children.    

• Who can attend the summer camp?

     -Children with mild to moderate      

      disabilities.

• What are the camp requirements?

   -Children must be able to follow 
    directions.

  -Children must be able to take care
    of their basic needs.

• **Limited Seating (small classroom setting) Teacher Ratio (1:5).

• Do we offer transportation?  No,  unfortunately we are unable to provide transportation. Parents or a designated person must pick up children.
• Proof of child’s disability must be presented at registration (i.e. current IEP or Psychological Report that states child’s disability. The Psychological Report must be dated within the last 3 years).

Note: The following professionals reviewed the summer camp activities for best educational practices for children with disabilities:  Artist/License Art Teacher, General Education Teacher, Health/Physical Education Teacher, and Special Education Teacher.

• What are the field trip requirements?

   -Children must be able to follow directions.

  -Children must be able to take care of their basic needs.

  -Proof of child’s disability must be presented at registration (i.e. current IEP or Psychological Report that states child’s disability. The Psychological Report must be dated within the last 3 years).

   -On all field trips children must be accompany with a parent or a responsible adult.

• What is the age of the children who can go on the field trip? 6-11 years old (1st to 5th graders).

• Who can go on the field trips?

    Children with mild to moderate disabilities and (1 or 2) siblings, 1 friend, or 1 or 2 relatives who are nondisabled in their age group.

Tutoring!

Reading Only ages 5-8

Tutoring Criteria: Children must have mild to moderate disabilities with a current dated IEP.

 Session Preferences:

-Small group instuction sessions: (Teacher/student ratio 1:4)

Cost Per Session: $25.00

-Private (indivdual instructional sessons)

Cost Per Session: $75

Per Session Time: 1 1/2 hours (90 minutes)
